Mackenlee Martin is an artist born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. From a young age she threw herself into the arts, quickly falling in love with photography. Her work combines digital and alternative photographic processes with printmaking techniques to explore topics of decay, religion, forgotten items, and southern life and landscapes. Martin has exhibited in multiple juried exhibitions along the east coast including the MVA Gallery in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and in several shows within her state. She has also appeared in the 67th Issue of Creative Quarterly and has appeared on their online gallery thrice. Martin is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography and printmaking from Converse University in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree with the intent of working in arts education.
